About Whetstone Central
Whetstone Central is an independent buying-guide site for knife sharpening tools. We help home cooks sort through stones, kits and sharpeners without the guesswork.
We write for people with a drawer of dull kitchen knives. You don't need to know what a grit number or an edge angle is, because we explain both in plain words.
What we cover
Our guides cover whetstones and other sharpening stones, guided sharpening kits, pull-through tools, honing rods and electric sharpeners. We also explain the basics, like grit, angle and how often a knife needs attention.
Many guides compare two tools or two types side by side, so you can see the trade-offs before you buy.
What we do
We read the product details, specs and maker information for each tool we cover. We also look at what buyers often say after using one.
